China Opens Its First Legoland Resort in Shanghai, the Largest Worldwide0China opened its first Legoland Resort on July 5 in Shanghai’s Jinshan district, marking a major milestone in family entertainment. Covering 318,000 square meters, the park is currently the largest Legoland in the world, featuring more than 75 rides, shows, and interactive attractions built with over 85 million LEGO bricks.

Legoland first launched in 1968 as a partnership between Denmark’s LEGO Group and Britain’s Merlin Entertainments, with its first park opening in Billund, Denmark. Since then, the brand has expanded worldwide, including locations in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

Ticket prices at the Shanghai resort range from about 61,000 won for off-peak days to 117,000 won on peak dates.

Key attractions include a water-town boat tour inspired by traditional Chinese Jiangnan architecture and “Dada,” the world’s largest LEGO minifigure, standing 26 meters tall. The resort aims to draw visitors from China and neighboring countries, including South Korea.
