Nicholas Lowinger was only 5 when a visit to a homeless shelter with his mom changed his life. He proudly wore light-up shoes, but then noticed many children had no shoes or wore ones that were falling apart or too small. Some even had to share shoes with family members and missed school when they couldn’t wear them. Wanting to help, Nicholas started by giving away his own shoes and clothes.
When he was 12, Nicholas created the Gotta Have Sole Foundation to give homeless children brand-new, well-fitting shoes. Today, his group has donated over 100,000 pairs, showing how simple kindness can make a big difference.
