When Valerie Chiu Wing-yee saw a color-changing experiment in elementary school, she discovered her love for science. In 2022, she started Teen Animals da Scientists, a youth-led organization that teaches science while supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Teens from over 10 countries join to run fun workshops and webinars on topics such as oobleck making, herbal medicine, and shark conservation. The group also publishes its own science magazine. Valerie believes science should be easy and exciting. She hopes that by making it fun, more young people will be inspired to learn and help solve important global challenges facing the world today.
