What Are Synapses?

What Are Synapses?0Synapses are small gaps between two neurons. When an electrical signal reaches the end of a neuron, it can’t jump the gap, so the neuron releases chemicals called neurotransmitters. These chemicals cross the gap and connect to the next neuron, passing the message along. Afterward, the neurotransmitters are removed so the next message can come through. This process helps your brain and body send signals quickly, like when you move, think, or feel. Isn’t that cool?
