U.S. Bans Red Food Dye

U.S. Bans Red Food Dye0The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently banned Red Dye No. 3 in food, drinks, and medicine.

Scientists found 30 years ago that this dye caused cancer in animals. It was already banned in makeup, but companies could still use it in food. Many candies and snacks have this dye.

Now, companies must stop using it. The FDA wants to keep people safe. South Korea also checks food dyes to make sure they are safe.
