Andy Kim is a U.S. senator from New Jersey and the first Korean American elected to the Senate. After winning the Senate seat, he promised to serve both the U.S. and South Korea.
Kim was born in Boston to South Korean immigrant parents. Before becoming a senator, Kim served three terms as a congressman. He also worked in important positions at the White House National Security Council and the Pentagon, helping with U.S. foreign policy.
