 Prisms are incredible tools that show how white light is a mixture of many colors. They are usually made of glass or plastic and shaped like a triangle.
When white light, like sunlight, passes through a prism, it bends. This bending happens because the different colors of light travel at different speeds in the prism.
Red light bends the least, while violet light bends the most. So, the white light separates and spreads out into a rainbow of colors called a spectrum.
We can see all the colors hidden in white light!
