Albert W. Taylor was an American who lived in Korea during the Japanese Colonial Period (1910-1945). He played a role in spreading the Korean Declaration of Independence globally. While visiting his wife and newborn at the hospital in 1919, Taylor found the Declaration hidden under the bed. He quickly wrote an article and sent the documents to the United States. In 1941, Japanese authorities imprisoned Taylor and expelled his family the following year. Taylor was a hero who communicated Korea’s message to the world.
